About
People often use whichever AI model is already selected. That habit can quietly lower the quality of the answer.
Different models excel at writing, analysis, research, problem-solving, and quick everyday tasks. Reasoning settings add another decision by controlling how long the model works through a request before responding.
Model selection becomes easier once you know what to look for. The task usually gives you enough information to choose the model and decide how much reasoning it deserves.
During this session, I’ll show you how I make those decisions in Claude and ChatGPT. We’ll work through Fable 5, Opus 4.8, and GPT-5.6, along with instant, fast, and extended reasoning.
You’ll leave with a practical framework for choosing confidently and the same decision trees I use myself.
This is for you if:
- New model names keep appearing and you still choose the familiar ones.
- Your Pro plan includes models and reasoning options you rarely use.
- A weak answer leaves you unsure whether to change the model, the reasoning level, or the prompt.
- You want better results without spending hours testing every available option.
What you'll get:
- Access to the live session.
- A practical framework for matching each task to the right model.
- Clear guidance for instant, fast, and extended reasoning.
- The decision trees I use in Claude and ChatGPT.
See you Friday. I'll make AI model selection make sense.
